Chrysler Sebring Coupe Programming Instructions

Programming Notes:

Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle. This procedure will erase all previously programmed remotes. You must program all existing and new remotes that you wish to use on the vehicle at this time.

Data Link Connector Port 1-16

Step-by-Step How To Programming Instructions:

  1. INSERT key into the ignition.  Do NOT turn the ignition switch — LEAVE it in the OFF position.
  2. LOCATE the Data Link Connector (DLC) underneath the dash on the Driver’s side.  Use the diagram above to identify Pins 1 and 4.
  3. JUMP the Data Link Connector using a suitable groundwire from Pin 1 to Pin 4.  DO NOT REMOVE the jumper wire until the end of the programming process.
  4. PRESS the Hazard Switch six (6) times.  This Step MUST be done within 10 seconds of installing the jumper wire at the DLC.  If performed properly, the vehicle locks will cycle automatically.  The vehicle is now in Programming Mode.
  5. PRESS either the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the first remote to be programmed three (3) times within ten (10) seconds.  The vehicle will signal successful programming by cycling the locks.
  6. REPEAT Step 5 for each additional remote to be programmed (up to a total of 4).  This MUST be done within one (1) minute of the last programmed remote.  After each remote is programmed, the locks will cycle automatically.
  7. REMOVE the jumper wire, TURN the Ignition to the OFF position and REMOVE the key from the Ignition.
  8. Test all remotes. Programming is now complete.

Chrysler Sebring Sedan Programming Instructions

Programming Notes:

Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle. This procedure will erase all previously programmed remotes. You must program all existing and new remotes that you wish to use on the vehicle at this time.

You MUST have at least one working remote in order for this procedure to work.  If you don’t have at least one working remote, you MUST have the remote programmed by an Automotive Locksmith.

If Procedure #1 does not work for your vehicle, try Procedure #2.

Procedure #1
Step-by-Step How To Programming Instructions:

  1. INSERT a key into the Ignition and TURN the Ignition to the ON position (just before cranking).
  2. PRESS and HOLD the UNLOCK button on a working remote for four (4) to ten (10) seconds.
  3. While holding the UNLOCK button, PRESS the PANIC button for one (1) second and RELEASE both buttons at the same time.  A chime will sound within three (3) seconds to indicate entry into Programming Mode.
  4. PRESS ANY button on the same remote until you hear another chime indicating that the remote has been successfully re-programmed.  This Step MUST be done within 30 seconds of hearing the first chime in Step 3.
  5. Within the next 30 seconds PRESS ANY button on the next remote to be programmed to your Vehicle.
  6. REPEAT Step 5 for any additional remotes to be programmed to your Vehicle.
  7. Test all remotes. Programming is now complete.

Procedure #2
Step-by-Step How To Programming Instructions:

  1. Using a working remote, PRESS the LOCK button five (5) times at two (2) second intervals to re-synchronize the remote.
  2. INSERT a key into the Ignition and TURN the Ignition to the ON position (just before cranking).
  3. PRESS and HOLD the UNLOCK button on a working remote for four (4) to ten (10) seconds.
  4. While holding the UNLOCK button, PRESS the PANIC button for one (1) second and RELEASE both buttons at the same time.  A chime will sound within three (3) seconds to indicate entry into Programming Mode.
  5. PRESS the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously on the same remote then RELEASE.  The Vehicle will chime to indicate that it has recognized the remote.
  6. PRESS and RELEASE the UNLOCK button on the same remote.  The Vehicle will again chime to indicate successful programming of that remote.  This Step MUST be done within 30 seconds of hearing the first chime in Step 3.
  7. Within 30 seconds of completing Step 5, PRESS the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the next remote to be programmed and then RELEASE.  You will again hear a chime indicating that the Vehicle has recognized the remote.
  8. PRESS and RELEASE the UNLOCK button on the remote.  The Vehicle will again chime to indicate successful programming of that remote.
  9. REPEAT Steps 6-7 on any additional remotes to be programmed to your Vehicle.
  10. Test all remotes. Programming is now complete.

    I don’t know how this is supposed to work. Port 1 of the OBD II connector on the 2002 Chrysler Sebring is not connected to anything. Port 4 is (to ground) but port 1 is not.
